Thermalogic® 4 Year Limited Warranty
(Additional
Humidity Sensor Warranty Info)
Thermalogic® Corporation warrants that the goods sold meet Thermalogic®
specifications and are adequately contained, packaged and labeled and
conform to the promises and affirmations of fact made on the container and
label. THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE EXCLUSIVE, AND ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES (WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL OR IMPLIED) INCLUDING WARRANTY OF
MERCHANTABILITY IN OTHER RESPECTS THAN EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE AND
WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
In the event that there is a breach of express warranty by the manufacturer
made in connection with the purchase of this product, if any, the sole
remedy of any buyer shall be to return the product for repair (or
replacement of the product if repair is impossible) to the manufacturer's
facilities in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, located at 22 Kane
Industrial Drive, Hudson, MA 01749. Some states do not allow the exclusion
or limitation of any incidental or consequential damages, so the above
limitation may not apply to you. Nothing herein contained shall be construed
to be a waiver by the manufacturer of any of the obligations imposed upon
said buyer under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts except as
herein specifically stated.
This warranty is enforceable only by the buyer of the product or a person in
the buyer's immediate family. This warranty is enforceable for a period of
FOUR YEARS from the date of purchase (does not apply to Humidity
Sensors). Some states do not allow limitations
on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above warranty may not apply
to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state.
EMF and RMI Considerations
Thermalogic® controls are engineered and manufactured to withstand reasonable
levels of electrical noise and interference found in typical industrial and
commercial installations. However, there is a compromise between control
cost and the degree of protection. It is always possible for electrical
noise and interference to exceed the level of designed-in protection. This
can happen, for example, if electrical arc or spot welding equipment is
close to the control and supplied from the same AC power wiring. It can also
occur if high voltage discharge devices such as electrostatic precipitators
or flame igniters are located close to the control. These are extreme
examples, but a much more common source of interference is simply motor or
contactor loads switched by the control which do not have reverse voltage
transient suppressors. Such suppressors are advisable for any inductive load
because most modern control systems use sophisticated microprocessor
electronics that are in some degree sensitive to the reverse voltage surges
produced when these loads switch off. Even if the control switching this
load is not affected, some other nearby control may be.
Load Snubbing
In most cases, separation of the sensor and load switching wiring and
avoidance of heavy, noisy, loads such as welders on the same AC power line
will be adequate protection against interference to the control. However, in
severe noise cases, Thermalogic® will be happy to recommend an appropriate
transient suppression device for your inductive load and/or other measures.
It is essential that Thermalogic® be advised of interference situations so
that we may recommend protective measures. Otherwise we cannot guarantee
proper control operation in the presence of electrical interference of
unknown amplitude.
Temperature Sensors
Thermalogic® temperature sensors are designed and manufactured according to
customer specifications to include the usable temperature range. Exposing a
temperature sensor to temperatures outside its rated usable temperature
range will void the warranty. Damage to the sensing element due to moisture
penetration or wicking via the junction of sheath and leads will also void
the warranty. Exposure to corrosive chemicals including but not limited to;
sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, etc. will void the warranty.
Exclusions from Warranty
This warranty is contingent upon, but not limited to, proper use of the
product by Purchaser. This warranty does not apply to products which have
been incorrectly installed or which have been subjected improperly to
extreme operating or environmental conditions; to products subjected to
modification, tampering, or repair by any party other than THERMALOGIC; or
to products damaged by negligence, casualty, improper service, or
maintenance. The warranty also does not apply to products damaged during
shipment, or as a result of the purchaser's failure to comply with any of
the procedures specified in the product's Operators Manual. This warranty
does not apply to failure caused by normal wear and tear, or to physical
damage to components which may occur during normal use.
